MY TOP 10 POSTS OF 2020 - THE NUNS HAVE IT!

Throughout the year of tumult that was 2020 my blog garnered 449K hits for 163 posts, and the 10 posts that got the most traffic were:

1.  WHY JESUS GAVE SISTER MARY OF ST PETER THE GOLDEN ARROW

Gasparro's St Francis of Assisi Received by Pope Innocent III

You will have noticed that the most popular posts concerned revelations given nuns. The one that got the most "organic traffic" from ordinary people all around the globe was an analysis of why the sharp-tongued Sr Mary was given The Golden Arrow, the prayer that pierces Our Lord's Heart and causes torrents of grace to fall on sinners. Two posts that made the top ten featured the Belgium nun, Lutgarda, who was approached by a dead Pope in flames who craved her intercession so he could escape his sentence of centuries in the fires of Purgatory. T'was Pope Innocent III who appeared to Lutgarda, and in his life he closed the churches in England for many years. Lutgarda's help was also sought by a dead priest who was in Purgatory because he had punished his priests unjustly.

St Lutgarda

The second most popular post was based on the prayer for holy souls given the nun, St Bridget, that may be offered 33 times on Good Friday so that 33 souls are released from Purgatory. The revelation given the Benedictine nun, St Gertrude the Great as to why a soul who makes a Spiritual Communion has an immense treasure of pure gold hidden within them came in 6th place.

It seems to me that in the time of covid, with lock-downs, mandatory quarantine, stay-at-home orders and even curfews that many of us have more in common with cloistered nuns than we ever thought possible. And the treasure of insights given them may be our insights, too, from learning of the greatness of Spiritual Communion to offering a powerful prayer that the holy souls may be freed. We may, of course, have more empathy for the holy souls just when our freedom is most curtailed, we may seek to free them all the more.
