YOU MAY FREE 33 HOLY SOULS WHEN YOU OFFER THE GOOD FRIDAY PRAYER OF ST BRIDGET

Please find the prayer below - which if you offer 33 times on Good Friday - will allow the release of 33 souls from Purgatory.  One soul is released for every year of Our Lord's life. The prayer and promise of the souls deliverance from Purgatory was given to St Bridget. (If you have just read this post, you may offer this prayer today, Holy Saturday and ask Our Lord to extend the promise because it would have been your intention to offer it on Good Friday). Also Holy Saturday, like every Saturday is a time when Our Lady is with the suffering souls.

"I adore Thee, O Holy Cross, which has been adorned with the tender, delicate, and venerable hands and feet of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and imbued with the Precious Blood. I adore Thee, my God, nailed to the Cross for me. I adore Thee again, O Holy Cross, for the love of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen"

    1. One of my closest and dearest friends sent it to me. He is very careful to share items that are approved. I believe it may be found in one of the texts containing the revelations and devotions of St Bridget. A quick search reveals there are quite a few books with the revelations given Bridget and at present I am trying to find the best one. Devotion to the Holy Souls in Purgatory is my favorite devotion and I look forward to immersing myself in the devotions to help the Holy Souls that St Bridget made known and which Holy Mother Church ratified. May you have a blessed Easter.

  5. I just show this and wondering if I could say it on Easter Sunday as I always pray for souls in purgatory. That's my everyday pray too.

    1. Yes, you may pray it on Easter Saturday as well. The Holy Souls will thank you! You may also say it every Friday and release 3 souls from Purgatory.

The promise of 33 souls released, however, only holds for Good Friday. But there are other devotions and prayers of St Bridget which may be said at any time of the year which are an amazing help to the Holy Souls.

  6. Hi Mary.

Can I say the prayer today Holy Saturday? Will it be as effective as if I said it on Good Friday?

    Thanks..

    1. You may offer it today and ask Our Lord Jesus to extend the promise because it would have been your intention to offer it on Good Friday for the good of the Holy Souls. Our Lord, I believe, will honor your good will and generosity to the suffering souls in Purgatory. May your goodness towards them be rewarded.

    1. James Ignatius, May all the 33 souls intercede greatly for you. You may also offer the devotion every Friday that is not Good Friday, and by doing this you may free 3 souls from Purgatory.

    2. That is a good suggestion, Mary, to do it every Friday. Three in honor of the Holy Trinity . May the Holy Spirit help me remember to do this.

    3. Were you to offer the prayer of St Bridget for the other 51 Fridays of the year, this would mean the release of 153 souls!

  9. I can't sign in but wanted to say I just completed the thirty three prayers and it's Monday. I asked our Lord Jesus to please extend to me as well since I would have said these prayers on Friday had I found this post sooner. thank you for sharing and I'll let everyone know if I ever receive confirmation my request of our Lord was answered. I know it's a stretch but I really think he'll agree. Happy Easter everyone.
