The number 13 belongs to Our Lady

Pope Francis may visit Fatima to celebrate the centenary in 2017.
98 years ago today, Our Lady appeared to Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco. It's not a random event that she did so on May 13th 1917.   Nor is it an arbitrary coincidence that the Miracle of the Sun happened on October 13th, during the month that is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary.  Our Lady gave St Dominic the Rosary in the 13th century.

A fact is that the letter 'm' is the 13th letter of the alphabet.  This just might be by chance, or it could owe to England's Catholic days when the letter 'm' for Mary was placed at number 13 in the series of letters because it honoured Our Lady, the 13th witness to the descent of the Holy Spirit.

Over at the Herald,  I have a post on Our Lady's method of marking her presence on our earthly calendars.  It's a system that uses a certain number and one day a month. The number is 13 and the date is the 13th of every month.

  1. Mary,

Thanks for the article in the Catholic Herald relative to Mary and the Number 13.

And it is interesting to observe that as I type, there is a sidebar to the right where Fr. John Corapi is imaged relative to Padre Pio. hmmmm (I will read it after I finish typing this note)

I am a lay member of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT). Fr. Corapi was a member too. I have met him and appreciated his work and my wife Jen was in mission with him in the early 90s.

We are still trying to get our footing after what occurred a few years back, when the bottom gave way on his media ministry.

We are praying for his return...I believe he will.

Our SOLT spirituality is worth fighting for and that is why I have been blogging (mostly in obscurity) since 2004.

Please take a look at my paltry efforts in the vineyard.

I was at Hyde Park in 1982 and Reflecting Pool is the mystical side of my walk of faith.

The Catholic Herald has a Science Editor, an Art Editor, you (representing the mystic) and I presume a Priest/Religious on board to give an official theologic take on matters.

This post talks to all four chambers of an undivided heart which is how we Catholics can witness the oneness of Truth through, with and in Jesus Christ.

The poem Drawn and Quartered attempts to do this in verse.

We too pray to St. Anthony....alot.

    God bless you!
