PADRE PIO: "RELIGIOUS LIFE IS MOUNT TABOR""
Dr. Christine Bacon was reading my book and has done a spirited and impassioned short video on Padre Pio's counsels as regards the difference between marriage and religious life. Padre Pio said of religious life, "Religious life is Mount Tabor united with God in prayer and contemplation."
But Pio also said that, "Marriage is Calvary" and this has galvanized Christine because she does tremendous good work in helping husbands and wives stay together - and she does this by way of showing them the Way of the Cross.
My source for the quotes from Padre Pio's conversations with Giovanni Rizzani is, Padre Alberto D'Apolito's Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, Memories, Experiences, Testimonials, San Giovanni Rotondo, 2013, pages 369 - 406

Hello Mary O'Regan, Have you heard any interviews by Padre Pio's secretary, Fr John Aurilia? There hear many stories that have contradictory information and Fr. Aurelia may be a more accurate source than many of the passed stories/rumors. I have yet to read your book. I'd like to buy a signed copy if possible. I don't see a way to do that here or to contact you. I can be reached every morning at 10:10am EST at the WFRN (World Family Rosary Network) live Rosary at Thirdeaglebooks on Youtube. (After the Rosary). It is the first and longest running live daily rosary on Youtube and probably the internet. I go as FaceMuseum2. Please contact me there so I can find a way to contact you.
ReplyDeleteHi there, I'll address you as FaceMuseum2 as this is your handle, thank you so much for your comment and for underscoring Fr. John Aurilia. I need to study him more, and he could inform my future writing about Padre Pio.
DeleteSigned copies of Padre Pio and You are not available for purchase presently, but you may buy a copy on the Sophia website, or the audio version on Audible. I may be able to do signed copies for purchase in the years to come. But as soon as they are, I'll post about it on this blog.
Thank you for wanting to be in contact with a lowly person like me. I am pulling back a bit from email because my calling is prayer and the pen; some writing to stir devotion to the holy souls is my priority this month of November.
God bless you and your devotion to Padre Pio and the Most Holy Rosary, Mary
