WE HAVE JUST COMPLETED A NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL

It can be all very well to say you are about to offer a novena, a prayer said once daily for 9 consecutive days, but novenas can be tricky because there is human error and a tendency to forget the novena and then miss days and you have to start over.  On the other hand, it may be better to announce that you have completed a novena, because then there is no doubt as to whether or not it will be finished...

I have just finished offering the Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.  A few cherished souls joined me in praying the Novena. You may see that which we prayed for if you look at the medal and see the streams of graces falling from Our Lady's hands like bright rays. When she gave the medal to humanity, Our Lady said that no one knows about these graces and no one prays for them. We prayed for these graces - which Our Lady said no one knows to ask for. In this time of lock-down, quarantine and self-isolation, money losses and business failures,  more and more of us do not know what to pray for. We need to request those unknown graces, those aids to our nature we do not know exist because the thought of them never even cross our minds, but which are more dearly and direly needed than ever before.

Unprecedented times call for uncommon grace.

Let us seek those bands of light shining from Our Lady's hands that symbolize the unsought graces which will be ours if we request them.

While I wrote it may be better to wait 'til after a novena has been offered before making it public, I would like to do the opposite and announce that me and a growing number of friends will start a second novena which will begin April 28th and run to May 6th. Please consider joining us and offering the Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal for your most personal intentions at this time and to make a request for those select graces that usually go unsolicited, but which may become yours when you offer this novena:

Immaculate Virgin Mary, mother of our Lord Jesus and our mother, we have confidence in your powerful and never-failing intercession, manifested often through the Miraculous Medal. We your loving and trustful children, ask you to obtain for us the graces and favors we ask during this novena if they will be for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
(Here privately form your petitions.)

You know, O Mary, how often our souls have been the sanctuaries of your Son who hates iniquity. Obtain for us then a deep hatred of sin and that purity of heart which will attach us to God alone so that our every thought, word, and deed may tend to His greater glory. Obtain for us also a spirit of prayer and self-denial that we may recover by penance what we have lost by sin and at length attain to
that blessed abode where you are the queen of angels and of men.  Amen.
