This is good and helpful. If you find more things like this, please post them. I was reminded recently of the three “within reach” devotions that have plenary indulgences associated with them: reading Scripture for a half hour, Eucharistic adoration for an half hour, doing the stations of the cross in front of validly displayed stations, praying one set of mysteries of the Rosary in a Catholic Church. These activities are things most Catholics could do at all times and in all places, done the day of or (I think) the day after a valid confession and receipt of Holy Communion and a prayer for the valid intentions of the Holy Father. The plenary indulgence performed in a state of grace after those other conditions are satisfied could also send one “straight to Heaven,” though most wordings and Protestants scoff, this is of faith for Catholics, most of whom do not know, care or believe in any of it.
I used to say this for years before I went to bed but fell out of the practice. Seeing this is a good reminder. I will print it off and stick it in my prayerbooks so that I remember to say it. Thank you for posting it.
James, as always, you are full of great, practical insights that can be readily put to use. You have a fine Celtic mind. I'm so grateful you are my loyal reader. + Prayers in gratitude for you and your family
Thank you Mary for posting this prayer. I have heard of it but never prayed it. I will print it and add it to my collection of prayers that need to be said.
