I'M TRYING NOT TO MAKE GOD LAUGH

The old witticism, you make God laugh when you tell Him your plans, springs to mind now that a few people are asking me what I'm currently writing. I just hope these plans I'm about to share with you are not the stuff of divine comedy.

New Book...

The couple who I mentioned in Miracles of the Miraculous Medal, J and J have started a book on their conversion and it really is a work of greatness. They are two of the brightest young stars in Los Angeles, dynamically good looking and genius level smart. And they are still astounded they became Catholic. The photo above is me with Lady J, who veils in honor and imitation of Our Lady.

They are experts on Protestantism, especially Presbyterian and they are offering a fine rebuttal of the works of John Knox, Luther, Calvin et al. The book is also about their lives, love story and our friendship, as well as a discussion of their conversion in light of they being the youngest Millennials.

They invited me to be their editor, and recently I also became a co-author. The title I proffered was, Pearl of Great Price. They accepted this, and it may change, but I wrote a structure in recent weeks with a set of pearly metaphors; the narrative is the thread that holds these pearls together. That said, my friends are so smart that they may not need me, and if so, then I'll be more than happy to bow out, because I don't want to be in the way. Their level of intelligence would intimidate Bill Gates.

I think their book will take two years. The night I worked on the outline, I felt tempted to despair, like this was beyond my abilities, but then there was a most lovely waft of celestial scent that filled my little hut here over the sea. It was like being in the middle of an English garden at the height of spring and it was very encouraging and dispelled my gloom.

I have been given this heavenly fragrance before, this time, however, it was all the more unusual because we had the hottest January since the 1800s, and there is the smell of boiling seawater which is sulfurous, and seaweed baking in the sun.

A friend of mine, a prince of the Church offered Holy Mass for the intention of this book, and I ask your prayers, too, and thank you in advance.

And another one...

My good friend, the unstoppable and multi-talented Patrick O'Hearn has invited me to co-author a book with him. We have not decided on a subject or person of interest. I am planning a trip to see him and his family in Arizona later in the year. But Patrick's relatives live in my neighborhood and they keep an eye on me. Patrick has dynamic energy and focus, and this is such a gift to me, I am sluggish and tend to spend a lot of time obsessing over details. His latest book is, I submit, his best, and one everyone needs, Humility of the Saints

My publisher, Sophia just might hold faith with me and be interested in another book I'll write for them on Archangel Raphael. But that's an undertaking on the level of Padre Pio and You, and I'm happily marketing it, doing podcasts, and answering many pieces of correspondence from my beloved readers who have questions.

With all these plans outlined above I am conscious that my mind is rather exhausted, and I feel I need to leave the field of thought fallow for a time before planting in it again; so I ask Archangel Raphael's help here, that I may know some cognitive healing before I write about him.
